The Fedora Project has officially opened nominations for its 2026 Contributor Recognition Program, which honors exceptional mentors and contributors who drive the community forward. The deadline for submissions is May 15, 2026.
Winners will be announced at Flock To Fedora 2026, in coordination with the Fedora Mentor Summit 2026. The program seeks to spotlight individuals whose guidance, technical contributions, and event coordination have shaped the Fedora ecosystem.
According to a Fedora Project spokesperson, “This recognition is a vital opportunity to celebrate the unsung heroes of our community — from veteran mentors who onboard newcomers to contributors who refine test cases or write documentation.”

The Contributor Recognition Program began as a community-driven effort to formally thank those who consistently go above and beyond. It has since become a biennial tradition at Flock To Fedora, the project's main contributor conference.
In 2026, the program expands categories to include both long-standing mentors and emerging contributors. The selection process involves community nominations followed by review by a dedicated committee.
